About the Canadian CIT Summit 2026

The Canadian CIT Summit 2026 will take place October 19-21, 2026, in Hamilton, Ontario, bringing together Canada's leading crisis intervention professionals under the theme "Forging Partnerships: Through Community."

Hamilton, known as the Steel City, represents strength, resilience, and transformation—qualities that define both our host community and the crisis intervention field itself. The Summit provides a unique opportunity to engage with the distinctly Canadian landscape of crisis intervention, including incorporating Indigenous-informed practices and cultural safety approaches, serving rural and remote communities that require unique crisis intervention strategies, overcoming provincial healthcare integration and policy innovation challenges, and promoting community-based mental health and harm reduction models.

Attendees will connect with crisis intervention professionals from coast to coast to coast, including crisis intervention teams, law enforcement officers, Mobile Crisis Response Teams, mental health professionals and peer support specialists, Indigenous community leaders and cultural advisors, healthcare administrators, policy makers, and academic researchers and innovators.

With over 50 workshops, outstanding keynote speakers, and dedicated time to network, the Canadian CIT Summit represents more than a professional gathering—it's an investment in Canadian communities and a commitment to ensuring that every person experiencing crisis receives the compassionate, effective care they deserve. Together, we're forging partnerships that will serve Canadians for generations to come.
